The Grizzly Win Mag ® line of semi-automatic pistols were manufactured by L.A.R. Manufacturing, Inc. from 1983 to 1999. I know of four production models: the Mark I, Mark II, Mark IV, and Mark V, which were chambered in .45 Win Mag, .45 Win Mag, .44 Magnum, and .50 AE, respectively. The Mark I was also available in many convertible calibers, including .45 ACP, 10mm Auto, 9mm Win Mag, .357 Magnum, and 357/44 GWM, and shared a 37/49 parts commonality with a standard M1911A1. At the time of their introduction, they were the most powerful production handguns in the world.
The Grizzly State Guns
According to several online sources, there was a limited production run of 50, high-quality Grizzly Win Mag Mark I pistols - one for each American state. All of the State GWM's have a blued finish for slide and frame, with gold accents on the trigger, slide stop, thumb safety, and hammer, with additional gold-plated engraving relating to the specific state the gun was made for. So far I have seen only the following examples:
