Designed by Nehemiah Sirkis, the Sardius / Sirkis SD9 was an extremely simple 9x19mm Parabellum semi-automatic subcompact pistol. Using a striker system with very few moving parts and a slide and frame made almost entirely of sheet metal,
SD9 pistols labeled "Sirkis" are of earlier manufacture, and are fewer in number than the "Sardius" guns. Later on, the design would be incorporated into the Intratec CAT-9/40/45, as well as the Cobra/Republic Patriot 45.
